This bites

I have never typed so slow in my life, and now I have to pick and peck. HATE THAT!

I hate leaving you all out of the loop and not being able to make you laugh. Bu only two more weeks of scaphoid hell.

Our Christmas was great, busy, but so much fun at the same time. Ella was such a good girl considering all the excitement and late nights she had. She's been sleeping like shit anyways so quite honestly it just couldn't get much worse! But, CJ loved everything he got, and as usual he was spoiled rotten by everyone around him. Ella got some really fun things. Two of her faves so far are her Elmo purse (which is to DIE for!), and herpink monster truck. She just loves her monster trucks. She has 5 or 6 now I think.

I got a laptop from Magellan. I've been asking for one for almost a year because Magellan is ALWAYS on the computer at home for work and it drove me crazy to not be able to check my email and facebook every day. I'm absolutely addicted to both, LOL! Anyway, it was an awesome gift and the only thing I got, natch.

So tomorrow is D Day in my house. It's my 30th birthday *gasp*! I am so NOT looking forward to it. I mean, turning 25 was bad enough, but 30! YIKES! Sadly, Magellan is out of town for work, but my mom is taking me out to breakfast, and then going to see this HUGE Barbie exhibit at our local museum. I can't wait b/c they have all the old Barbie's and stuff and that should be neat to see. Then my wonderful sissy in law is coming over later that day to make me a cake and dinner. She is a fantastic cook!! I am excited to see what she comes up with. Then maybe Wednesday night my good friend since high school wants to treat me to Red Lobster. Can you say YYUUUMMM???? Then I'm sure Magellan and I will do dinner or a movie or something this weekend after he comes home from New Paltz.

So that's all I can stand typing. My wrist is killing me. Hopefully there aren't too many typos or misspellings!!

I'm here

Yes I'm here. I'll be taking a break, sorry! I know you are all heartbroken, but we have had the sickies in our house recently, and I broke my wrist falling on the ice. Here's my pretty xmas present!

It hurts like hell and I have to somehow manage to wrap presents like this. Although it's a short cast it covers almost all but a small part of my thumb to keep those bones immobilized completely or it won't heal right. UGH! Did I mention it suck? It is SO hard to do things. Thankfully tho the dr gave me some Vicodin, and I'm glad I asked for it, b/c it hurts way worse now than before. I'm sure when the dr did the physical exam and just about popped my thumb out of the joint, that didn't help too much, but this sucks.

So I have a nice pretty cast on for Xmas, my birthday AND New Years.

Thank you very much Santa.

Ella and Colin sittin' in a tree....

Yup, I've gone and married my sweet, evil daughter off!

I believe in arranged marriages, LOL! Not really, but this one was just meant to be.

My good friend, Emily, and I grew up together. I met her when I first moved to the 'burbs from the country. I was 10....I won't even say how many years it's been, but it's been a lot. We lost touch for a few years, you know those crazy busy college years and such, but found each other on Facebook. I couldn't have been more excited because I love my Emily. We laugh so much when we're together and it's like we never missed a beat. And her son is just the cutest, funniest guy ever!! He makes me pee my pants every time we hang out. Oh, and he adores Ella. The way they interact just melts my heart. Ella would pick up one of her many balls and try to sprint over to Colin to share with him. They even share snacks, and toothbrushes! It was meant to be!

Ella and Colin first met when they were about 8 months old, I believe. I'm thinking it was right about the time Ella came down with Roseola and I can remember thinking that Emily would never want us over again, what with Ella being so sick and miserable and I happened to have CJ with me that day too. You all know how it is with a kid in a new place. He got into literally everything and kept wanting to have a tour of Emily's house. It was rather obnoxious to be perfectly honest.

But, such was not the case. We try to get together at least once a month, and the kids never miss a beat. They open right up to each other and it's so cute watching them interact with each other as they get older. I love it, it's almost like having twins but without all the work. Ella and Colin even have birthdays very close together. Ella's is 10/12, and Colin's is 10/30 (I hope that's right...I know it's very close to Halloween!).

So enjoy the photos from our recent playdate. They are adorable!

The toothbrush photo!

Colin was still a little shy here, but at least he's half faking a smile for me!

Em getting down and dirty with the couple!
Ella ripped her cute ponytail out and was clapping for herself!

Colin dancing to the music table.

Still playing with the music table....

Playing with CJ's cars...ssshh don't tell CJ!
Checking out the tow truck while Ella was getting into the WII.

*I happen to love this pic (the one above). They are so in sync they even color coordinate, both wearing a different shade of green for their date!!!

Playing ball.

Em playing with Ella's sunglasses....Ella thought it was great!

Colin playing with the balls again....these are a hit at this age.

End of week update

Phew, what a freaking week it's been. If I could say the "F" word and not feel guilty that you all were reading and some might be offended, I sure as heck would. I am so glad that week is over. Ella is bound and determined to start doing naptime her way or the high way. Sadly, she has won a lot of those times. Today I let her fuss (or cry really) for an hour. Yes, my daughter-who-loves-to-sleep-so-I'll-sleep-13-hours-every-day did not want to end this wonderful, cheery week off with a nice long nap so mommy could spend quality time with Daddy. I actually gave in and let her have a bottle. *gasp*

She wanted nothing to do with it, and why should she? She never gets a bottle during the day anymore. I did away with that at least two months ago. She even looked at me like I was crazy. But at that point, I was probably was. Ella finally fell asleep only to wake up miserable an hour later. Daddy had taken his truck to get washed and Pee Wee came in to see the kids. He's been working with Magellan so he doesn't see Ella or CJ that much either. Ella sure was glad to see her Uncle tho. She sat quietly on his lap for a minute or two, which in Ella's world is an eternity!

But, she was so overtired and cranky that she only stayed up till about 6p. Yes, I sure did type that right....6p. I took her up at 530p actually. And she was about passing out in the rocking chair. She slept until about 10p, had some milk and is sleeping again. But all week long she's been fighting naps like no body's business. We might have to have a heart to heart next week while Magellan is gone though. I can't do days like that for too much longer. This whole week I'm lucky if I can get Ella to take one short nap, and I mean like 1/2 an hour nap. But, at least she goes to bed super early and is out till about 7am the next morning. I can do without the naps as long as my Diva keeps sleeping at night like that. Oh, and just when I discover another molar has come thru the gums, I see her damn canines coming in now too. UGH! Just get it over with already.

We had some real shitty weather this week. Snow, wind, freezing cold air, hail, sleet you damn well better name it. It showed up in my yard and I was not happy. But, at least Magellan was kind enough to clean out the garage for me last weekend before he left for work and I could park in the garage. What a godsend a garage is. Not having to scrape off the snow and ice....it's the best thing man ever invented. Well, sort of right?!

Magellan got home real late Thursday night, I was already sleeping sadly. I caught a half of a cold. And I say that b/c it consisted of a sore throat, post nasal drip and only hung around for 3 days. Now it's gone, thank God, but I sure was worn out by the end of the week. Sorry Magellan, I'm such a party pooper!

CJ and Ella were of course so excited to see Magellan. I thought Ella would crap her pants, she didn't want to leave his side for about an hour. And she kept looking at his face like she couldn't believe he was there. She's too sweet.

Today Daddy and CJ spent the better half the late morning and afternoon working, doing errands. Ella and I went shopping for my good friend's daughter's bday party tomorrow. It will be so much fun, I can't wait. And I love shopping for little girl's now!!! I can't wait to share pics of the kids with the other party goers. The best part about my day was the Garbage plate for dinner Magellan got me. I have been craving one for about 3 weeks now (NO I'm NOT preggo!). You have to know what I'm talking about to understand the insane craving. And it was SO good. So now that I have that out of the way, I can wait about 3 more months till my next one. Those of you who are clueless as to what one is, google it, and be sure to look at the images. Mmmmmm......I can smell it now.......

Ella had her last flu booster this week. Naturally she didn't give a rat's behind she got stabbed in the leg for the hundredth time this year. I'd almost think she likes it if she didn't yell at the nurse after all was said and done. Oh, and she had her consultation with her plastic surgeon for the cyst above her right eye. She's had it since she was about 3 months old, and it sure ain't getting any smaller. The dr said it DEF needs to be removed, otherwise it could get infected. And as much as it grows sticking out, it also grows inward, possibly pushing on her brow bone or skull. Lovely thoughtr eh? January 11Th is the day for the surgery. It will be a short procedure but unfortunately she will have to be under general anesthesia (did I even spell that right?). I'm nervous about that, but the sooner the better that it's all over and done with. We initially thought they could do an incision under her brow bone, but the cyst is not close enough for that. The only other option which would create less of a scar would be to cut along the hairline (the WHOLE hairline), pull the skin down and remove the cyst that. It will be sealed with dissolvable sutures, but I just don't like the idea of any of it. I hope it's over quick and is quite painless.

So, that's a wrap. It's late, I hope I didn't forget too many words. I have some pics of Ella's play date with her future hubby to share. They are too darn cute those two babies!

I'll let y'all know how the birthday party goes!

'Night.

Tasteless Tuesdays....even though it's Wednesday!

I'm a slacker, but I've got a good excuse. Magellan is of course out of town working and it's been a hellish week so far with the kids. If I could commit myself to an insane asylum just for the weeks Magellan is gone, I SO WOULD. It would mean quiet, and time to myself. I might even eat better there, LOL!

So here is my Tasteless Tuesdays while I get a few minutes of "me time".

Courtesy of CJ:
"Mommy, my butt hurts from squeezing out the Queen. And she won't come out. Can you help?"

"Where's your wiener and how do you go pee?"

"Did Ella come out of your butt when you had her?"

"Daddy, what are those things hanging down by your boys?"

"Why is Star's poop so big, Mama?"

Courtesy of Miss Ella:
She was munching on a pickle today and suddenly decided she didn't want it anymore. I just so happened to be holding her when she wanted to get rid of it, and she dropped it down my shirt, between my boobs. And it was all slimey too.

I was feeding Ella Spaghetti for lunch one day and she took a big mouthful of it. Then she took it out of her mouth and ran her fingers thru her hair and laughed very wickedly at me b/c she knew I would be cleaning it up. She thought it was hysterical.

Ella decided she wanted yogurt melts for a snack (they are pieces of fruit with yogurt hardened over them) and ate a ton before I could grab the bag from her. As I picked her up she threw them up all over me. Smelled just wonderful too!

My mother picked up Ella the other day and it had been a few days since she had seen her, and doesn't Ella immediately start farting as my mom is holding her. And she waited until my mom had her hand placed on her bottom to hold her too. Then she giggled when my mom said, "Gee thanks Ella."

So Far So Good

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that for now the time away between Magellan and I helped. We had a nice heart to heart while he was gone and talked about a lot of our issues and for the first time in a long time it seems Magellan is open to change and helping out. When he can of course. It's going to be hard while he's busy doing the building in New Paltz but he actually got home way earlier than expected Thursday night and spent hours with me and the kids. And of course they ate it right up!

He was also kind enough to let my dad leave early today while watching Ella. I was cleaning in Mendon today and Magellan knew it would be kind of a late afternoon. Plus I had my monthly waxing appt. But, he sucked it up and hung with Ella and put her down for a nap. And even played with her for a bit after she got up, even though he had stuff to do. I'm proud of him to say the least. It's nice to see him interact with the kids, especially Ella b/c she so rarely gets to spend time with him b/c she goes to bed at 630p.

I was telling Magellan tonight that I had to update my blog....he says, "Oh, I have a good topic for you." Naturally, I rolled my eyes b/c I knew exactly what he was about to suggest. "You should write about what a good hubby I am."

So here I am...writing about how well behaved he's been. It's almost like dog obedience school for him. Haha, I kind of like how that sounded. I bet he won't.

I told him it would be nice to know his changes were going to be permanent before I blog about it, you know, just in case I jinx it. But here I am....updating you all. I've been much happier to say the least. And then he has to go and leave again...Monday morning to be exact, to go back to New Paltz.

*Sigh* Back to single mommy hood I suppose. At least next week is busy for me. I work two days next week, Ella has her consultation with the plastic surgeon and her last flu shot, and to round the week off right, we're going to my good friends daughter's second birthday party. I'm excited about that, I'm hoping Magellan will go. *hint, hint*

Tomorrow Magellan and I have a wedding to go to. I've never been to a wedding in the winter. And I'm actually super excited about it even though I won't know but like 10 people, if that even. I bought a new, pretty dress and can't wait to wear it, but the best part is I am FINALLY getting my hair colored! If you remember back to my post about my last appt in September, I have been waiting a long time to get it done. It SO needs it. I'll get Magellan to take some pics of it when all is said and done.

Oh, and the best part about my weekend is......the kids are having an overnight with Magellan's mom and step dad. How nice of them to watch the kids, especially overnight, while we go to the wedding. I'm psyched but I hope Ella sleeps well for them. CJ always does but you know Ella still has her moments where she wakes up at night and wants milk. Last night she was up 3x, but I'm going to guess she had a pretty good reason. The reason is molars. And no, the other 3 have still not broken thru the gums. UGH! I hate teething!!

So I suppose that's it. Well, actually I do have one more tid bit of into for you.

My older brother called me today to say that he talked my wicked witch of the west aunt. My biodad had skin graft surgery Tuesday for his cancer. They did a full body scan I guess and the cancer has not spread to his jaw bone like they had originally thought, it is only in his gums and skin in his mouth. So, they took some skin from his arm and grafted it to his gum/cheeks, and then took some skin from his leg and grafted that to fix his arm. He apparently has a hole in his throat (my brother didn't explain that to much to me, so I don't know if they did a trach on him or not). He also has staples from his ear down his neck from them opening him up to check the bone I think. So the lucky bastard will probably live another 20 years and continue to torture people.

At this point, I'm just glad I listened to my gut instinct and did not go see him. I have a feeling that if I had seen him b/c he thought he was dying, he would've done an entire 360 once he found out he was going to be alright. I'm sure he would've just went back to his old ways of being a spineless, abusing jerk.

I'm happy with my decision, but kind of pissed off at God for letting him defeat death.

Again.

Tasteless Tuesday

Last week's post was such a hit, I think I'll just keep grossing you all out with my funny kids.

Spoken very truthfully by my Bossy Transformer:

"Look Mom, I'm making my wiener dance!"
"I can't wear that sweater, it's disgusting."
"That's it, I'm moving out and you can't come with me!"
"I think last night a mosquito snuck in my room and bit me on my boys."
"I have to eat more raisins b/c they make my wiener grow."
*Yes, CJ is at the stage where he's obsessed with his boy part...in case you couldn't tell!*

Funny things courtesy of my Ladybug:

Ella and I were in Wegmans the other day and she was munching on a cookie when an older gentleman stopped to say hi to her. She promptly took the cookie out of her mouth and offered it to the man. Of course he politely declined.

The other day Ella and CJ were in the bathtub. She was standing up holding on to the side jabbering away to me, when all of a sudden I saw her get up on her tippy toes. I laughed b/c it looked so funny and next thing I know CJ is yelling, "SHE'S POOPING!

"
We were at my in laws for Thanksgiving and I was letting Ella run around naked, airing herself out a bit. I usually let her do this at home before Jammie/bed time. She walked right into the bathroom and peed all over the floor...hey at least it was in the bathroom.

Ella has somehow managed to bypass the childproof locks on our bathroom drawers and was digging thru Magellan's drawer the other day. Next thing I know she's wandering around with his nose hair clippers (he'll love me for this one!). He of course thought it was gross, I thought it was funny that that was the object of choice!

I hate when Ella has raisins to eat....take a guess why? I don't think she chews them AT ALL.
